Newsweek #1: Gen Z, LinkedIn, and Marissa Cooper
My top stories from the chaotic news cycle. From Gen Z working their first ever 9-to-5, how LinkedIn is cringe, and what people behind the scenes thought when The O.C. killed Marissa Cooper.

I'm a Gen Z worker who just graduated and started my first full-time job. I was shocked by the 9-to-5 schedule. (Business Insider)
A short essay about the struggles of your first 9-to-5 job and the question: “Does it have to be this way?”
When The O.C. Killed Marissa: “What Have We Done?” (Vanity Fair)
The O.C. is one of my all-time favorite shows and I often wondered if the ending of the show was planned out from the beginning. Because to me, the entire storyline was perfection - from beginning to end.
Reading all the different takes on the death of Marissa Cooper and the parallels of Misha Barton’s own life and situation on set, made me pause for a moment. No wonder, Misha was the perfect actress for the character, because she IS Marissa (to an extent).
It's not just you. LinkedIn has gotten really weird. (Business Insider)
Found this while browsing on LinkedIn (ironically) and never clicked on something faster. I HATE LinkedIn and what it has become. The only reason I am on there is “to do my part” and re-share a post from my work. The reason I hate LinkedIn is exactly what the article is about; personal posts are booming, but it still is a very corporate platform. This turned “LinkedIn into one of the world's strangest social networks”.
Another great article about this is “LinkedIn has officially entered its ‘cringe era,’ and it’s working” from Fortune.
XOXO
